Short story & victories / success of Team Switerzland Men 2010
Since some seasons from now the Swiss National Team has been an "open" group. As a matter of fact, every new season the players must earn their right to be part of this team, judged each time upon their performance in the Swiss championship. In addition to this, some young players have to temporarily give up their call in order to complete their school career. This is one side effect from the ongoing process to drop the player's average age.
As a matter of fact only four players from the team who won the title in Austria in 2007 are still part of this group ever since and some of them will rejoin this year after one or two seasons of absence.
This means that in 2010 for the European championship in Cadempino (Switzerland) the Swiss team will pick out almost half of new players in its roster compared to last year's victorious team.
A new challenge for the staff and, therefore, a situation that makes it impossible to forecast the fate of the final result.
The competition will be very tight and, without any doubt, the competitors will be eager to challenge the title holder on its own soil.
