I am very pleased, as President of the International Inline-Skaterhockey Federation, to welcome you to the European Championship 2010 for Men in Skaterhockey once again in Lugano, Switzerland which takes place on October  29-31, 2010. I would like to thank the Swiss Federation and the hosting club Sayaluca Lugano for the interest and support that has been given to this tournament. The Organising Committee organized by Viero Foglia has worked very hard on all the technical and social details, and this, along with the wonderful hospitality of the hosting club and the  superb organisation of this important event, are the guarantees for a successful competition. I would like to wish all the players, team officials and spectators who have come from around Europe a lot of luck in this Title Event and I hope that you will enjoy this tournament. I would also like to thank all the IISHF officials and referees. My special thanks go to our Swiss friends who have devoted their time and efforts to this main event which, I am sure, will be very successful.

This year we have participation of 7 countries coming from Austria, Denmark, Germany, Great Britain, Netherland, Poland and Switzerland. The defending Champion is Switzerland who won the European Championship for Men in 2009 by beating Denmark in the final by the score of 6-2.

Skaterhockey is a fast growing sport which can be played both outdoors and indoors. The game is played with a ball  and is a very fast and exciting game. This tournament is played indoor on a
20x40 meter rink.
The International Inline- Skaterhockey Federation consists today of 9 countries.

Dear Sport Friends,
as chairman of Inline Hockey Sayaluca Lugano and Event Director of the "European Chamionship Men 2010" I do my warmest welcome to Cadempino-Lugano.
For the second consecutive time, the European Championships will be held in Cadempino and we consider this fact a great honour.
Once again, the International Federation has chosen us for organizing this wonderful sporting event thanks to the excellent organization we did last year.
Our strength is the spirit that has denoted our organizational work all over the year to get prepared and smoothly in the organization process.

The Palamondo will be ready to welcome the players, coaches, staff and of course all the fans of Inline Hockey. There will be areas reserved for players, referees and other staff and open to the public, to ensure that players and coaches a minimum of privacy.
The organization is serious and professional and I hope that everything can be made for you.
You will find all the information for the conduct of the tournament on the detailed brief published on our website.

Le inline-hockey

Souvent comparé au hockey sur glace, le inline-hockey en est son plus proche cousin. Pratiqué depuis un quart de siècle en Suisse, ce sport encore jeune bénéficie du constant engouement de la population pour le roller et connaît un développement régulier. Les règles appliquées au inline-hockey sont fortement similaires à celles du hockey sur glace. Des patinoires de 40 x 20 mètres y remplacent les grandes surfaces de glace et une boule suscitant la convoitise des 4 joueurs de champ et du gardien de chaque équipe pendant les 3 x 20 minutes de jeu se substitue au palet.

La Fédération Suisse de Inline Hockey

Née de la fusion entre les Associations Romande et Tessinoise en 1990, la Fédération Suisse de Inline Hockey (FSIH), est aujourd'hui composée de 41 clubs répartis sur l'ensemble du territoire national. Afin d'offrir le soutien nécessaire aux près de 3000 licenciés des 138 équipes engagées dans ses différents championnats, elle dispose cette année d'un budget de CHF 220'000.- assuré en grande partie par les cotisations de ses membres.

Grâce à ses nombreuses catégories de jeu, la FSIH offre la possibilité à tout un chacun de pratiquer son sport favori dans les meilleures conditions. Minis, novices et juniors composent le mouvement jeunesse, l'une de ses principales priorités. Les actifs sont quant à eux répartis sur les 4 niveaux différents que sont les Ligues Nationales A et B, ainsi que les 1re et 2e Ligues. Les dames disposent également d'un championnat national et les vétérans se retrouvent plusieurs fois par années à l'occasion de tournois.

La FSIH est affiliée à la Fédération Internationale de Inline Skater Hockey (IISHF).


Equipes nationales

La FSIH est fière de pouvoir présenter 2 équipes nationales aux différentes compétitions de la IISHF. Actifs et juniors portent ainsi haut les couleurs de la Suisse sur la scène internationale. Le palmarès de ces dernières années est d'ailleurs éloquent.

Actifs : champion d'Europe en 2002, 2004, 2007 et 2009, vice-champion d'Europe en 2001, 2003, 2005 et 2006.
Juniors : champion d'Europe en 2002, 2003 et 2008, vice-champion d'Europe en 2004, 2005 et 2007.

Les équipes nationales bénéficient depuis quelques années de l'infrastructure idéale du Pallamondo à Cadempino pour l'organisation de ses camps d'entraînement.


La Fédération Suisse de Inline Hockey est très reconnaissant  de trouver en son sein des clubs comme le IH Sayaluca qui assure depuis de nombreuses années l'organisation de manifestations nationales et internationales.
C'est aussi grâce à ces clubs que notre sport peut évoluer en Suisse et lui permet par là de conserver sa place parmi les toutes meilleures nations d'inline-hockey.
