Final between Switzerland and Denmark (1-2, 2-0) at the European Championship for Men taking place in Lugano, Switzerland on October 23-25, 2009.
In the game for third place Great Britain won over Germany 5-4 (1-2, 2-1, 0-0, 2-1) after extratime and penalty shootout.
Switzerland won the first semifinal Sunday against Great Britain with 8-4 (3-2, 5-2) with Switzerland taking the lead in the second half with 5-2 after Great Britain was leading 2-1 in the first half. In the second semifinal Denmark won 6-4 (4-3, 2-1) over Germany in game where a Germany were taking the early lead 1-0 and 2-1 in the first half. 3 powerplay goals for both Denmark and Germany. In the placement games for 5-7th place Austria won their game against Poland 7-5 (3-4, 4-1) after trailing 3-4 at halftime.
Netherland won 6-2 (4-0, 2-2)over Poland who then placed 7th in the tournament.
In their last game Netherland won 10-5 (4-2, 6-3) over Austria.
Netherland placed 5th and Austria placed 6th.

Saturday started with the first game between Poland and Switzerland
with a Swiss victory by 3-0 (1-0, 2-0).
Great Britain won 4-1 (2-1, 2-1) over Netherland. In a very though game Denmark came from behind 0-2 and 1-3 to win 10-5 (3-3, 7-2) over Germany with all goals scored in powerplays.
Netherland won their first game 8-5 (4-1, 4-4) over Poland.
Denmark stayed undefeated in the tournament by beating Great Britain by 3-2 (2-0, 1-2). Austria won their first game 7-6 (2-6, 4-1) over Poland who came from down 2-6 to tie up the game at 6-6.
Germany and Switzerland played 5-5 (2-2, 3-3) in a game where Germany were leading
by 5-3 with 1 minutes and 13 seconds to go and playing powerplay.
Switzerland tied up the game with 19 seconds to go on a penalty shot.
Netherland won their second game of the groupplay 6-5 (3-1, 3-4) over Austria.
Denmark lost to Switzerland with 2-6 (0-3, 2-3). In the last group game Great Britain won over Germany with 4-3 (1-2, 3-1).

Germany clear victory over Netherland with 9-3 (3-0, 6-3).
Denmark won a close match over Austria with 5-2 (1-1, 3-1) with first goal to Denmark after 35 second but where Austria tied up the game twice. Switzerland won in a tight game with 3-1 over Netherland (1-0, 2-1).
Germany won in controlled game 9-2 over Poland (5-0, 4-2).
Switzerland scored 14 goals in a 14-1 (4-1, 10-0) win against Austria after Austria had taken the early lead.
Great Britain won 8-2 (3-2, 5-0) over Poland after Poland was leading twice. In the last game Friday Denmark won with 10-5 (3-2, 7-3) over Netherland.
